I’ve been working on a YA novel since 2011, inspired by my work with middle school youth Savannah’s Deep Center. I was sick of hearing about Team Edward/Jacob and other Twilight drivel, and wanted to write a story for the young girls in my class that promoted strong, independent young women.
This is my grandmother, Myra Ware. She died in January of 1985 when I was just a year old. I have no memory of her or her voice, but yesterday, that changed!
